Meet The Characters

 52+  Kate’s unease with her aging body and the feeling that she has lost her lust for life has caused her to uproot her family's entire life in Newport Beach California and move them to Paris. Her new found neurosis leads her to make unfortunate decisions as she tries to recapture her youth, which often end with her crying in a closet, eating day old pizza, pastries and chocolate.

Caribbean born and raised in Paris. Kate’s best friend. She is a no-nonsense, independent, extremely chic and fashionable woman with a life partner and no children. Fab is an enabler to Kate. She is the Ethel to Kate’s Lucy. 

Kate's younger husband.His calm demeanor belies a passive/aggressive undertone. His identity was always that of the sexy, exotic Frenchman in Newport Beach. Back in Paris, he is constantly mistaken for an American, which really fuels his insecurities over his looks and charm.

Single, charming and good looking with an exciting bi-sexual life. The overtly sexy younger Italian lover from Kate’s past. He still has the joie de vivre that she feels she is lacking and that stirs something inside her that she struggles to accept. Kate is surprised to find that he lives on the street where they just bought their home, while everyone else in her life assumes she knew and did it on purpose.

 30, Kate's oldest child, who appears much younger than his age and is always getting mistaken for a youth under 25, so he grew facial hair to appear older but it doesn’t really work. He is naive and his only goal in life seems to be becoming famous on YouTube, which he tries through a myriad stupid methods.

17, Kate and Olivier’s oldest daughter. Born in Paris but now a “California” beach girl, Emilia is a fun loving, popular teen so is unhappy about the move to Paris and leaving all her friends behind.

15, Kate and Olivier’s youngest daughter. An introverted book-loving child who seems to always be ready with a smart zinger, Chloe has a romantic view of Paris and is excited about seeing what the city has to offer.

Sophie a young resourceful renaissance woman. What she lacks in her 4’10” stature,she makes up for in entrepreneurial spirit as she creates her handyman business from the ground up, beginning with only one tool and one street full of targets.

Mid 40’s and Kate’s work nemesis. He had been vying for Kate’s position and is bitter now about Kate getting the job and thinks it’s only due to her relationship with Fab. 

Kate’s bumbling assistant who has been at the company forever but is not invested in her job because she is focused on her side gig, clowning.

Sophie's taller and more German? twin sister.  Sandrine a complete German-o-phile has left her French heritage behind to embrace being German much to her sisters chagrin. She is chic and tall and the opposite of Sophie 

Genevieve is in her 70's and was  in the Peace Corps and now has been widowed for 25 years. No one needs a ring camera with Genevieve on the street.   I guess we need an actress and Apolline will have to play another part in this series because we sort of fell in love with her after she stepped in to fill in for Genevieve in the table read.
